Revit with BIM

We are developing building information modeling (BIM) into our workflow with the integration of Revit’s 3-D modeling and project data for facilities management in our construction documents. This technology is revolutionizing the architectural industry and enables us to model buildings three-dimensionally and link data for property management tasks during operations. Floor plans, sections, and elevations are created concurrently with each other. Any change made to one is automatically reflected throughout the entire project. BIM forces us not to think in terms of floor plans, sections and elevations, but to recognize what is happening above and below the floor plan, and consider what is being affected in the space around the floor plan. With experience in still images and animated fly-arounds, our designers can deliver outstanding and realistic 3-D representations at all stages of projects. Using 3-D modeling for our design development and construction documents produces a clearer understanding of a building before it is built. It helps us answer questions faster. It enables higher quality drawings and property management data. It allows us to present our design concepts in 3-D at any point in the design process. This helps everyone understand how a building functions and see what it actually looks like. The end result is a smoother transition from design to construction to operations, which benefits the architect, contractor, and client.

AutoCAD Drawings

R.L. Engebretson is committed to producing detailed and complete contract documents appropriately incorporating technically sound integrated materials and methods. Experienced and skilled knowledge of roofing, masonry, precast, glass, and interior fit-outs provides sound construction for long-term maintenance. Posting documents online has been practiced since 2005 and is inherent in the work processes of this firm. R.L. Engebretson uses AUTOCAD and Revit 2013 to assemble our construction documents.

3D Renderings

R.L. Engebretson has a dedicated team of CAD technicians and 3-D rendering specialists. Our designers can deliver outstanding and realistic 3-D representations from still images and flat elevations to fly-arounds. This is an artistic view, one that shows textures, materials, and lighting, which can help clients visualize the entire project. Light-transfer modeling techniques are used to represent aspects of creating an image. There are four technical families that exist, but 3-D renderings usually combine at least two in order to create solid images.
